IS THE MEDIA OVER HYPING THE LAKERS ?

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

To be honest I am not a big Summer League fan. I see nothing about it that is worth anything but a quick look at rookies that will have to play in a much more difficult league once the actual season begins.
So yes, it is easy to look at summer league and overrate a player and his team for that matter.
In my opinion, Summer League only opens the door way for many fans to think that their team is much better than what they really are.
This data visualization is not affiliated with, nor sponsored by, any player or sports organization.Again I'm not against Summer League, I just warn people not to let ESPN hype your team up as they are only there to market the league and not to tell the truth.
As for the Lakers, damn are they a team the media just can't get enough of.
It's so obvious that the league wants LA to shine so bad that they are almost willing to do whatever it takes even cheating if necessary to put them back in the playoff picture. So I am not surprised by this overselling of Lonzo Ball and the Lakers this year by the media and the League. what I am surprised at is that some people seem to be buying it. It's gonna take more than Lonzo Ball to get the Lakers into the Playoffs in the already power packed Western Conference.

And not to mention the Rockets are gonna be much better and the Thunder maybe something serious to contend with. So how is the media hyping the Lakers and saying they are back ?
